[x]         Kushina looked at the young blond, and then almost gasped when he mentioned how he looked like the forth Hokage. Her features softened; and her eyes welled up with tears. How could she explain this to him? How could she explain that she was his mother? And the fourth Hokage was his father?

                                           He looked just like Minato.

Thinking back to the times she had last spent with Minato, her eyes would well up with tears. They were stopped as she held a finger up to stop her them from falling down her face and become visable for Naruto to see. Of course, she didn’t want him to notice that she was crying.

She heard him speak of her hair and she almost could have cried even more. When people said that she had nice hair, she would always tell them what she really thought. Which was that she would love them for the rest of their life. Being her son, she so wanted to desperately tell him that she loved him. She wanted to take him into her arms and hug him and tell him that she was sorry for not being around him his whole life, and not being able to be the mother that he had always wanted.

She heard the quirks. He was just like her! The same quirks when he got excited, was the same as her own. She looked at him in almost complete shock. Wasn’t he curious to understand why they sounded so alike? But maybe that was her brains in there with him. Her brains hadn’t always been the brightest. Not like Minato’s anyway.

“ Oh I know! When I’m excited about something, it just comes out, ya know! Just like—-just like yourself, ya know! But I hope this mission is a good one too, ya know, Kakashi-sensei. ”
It  felt strange just saying that Kakashi was her sensei. If anything, she was to be his sensei. But as she looked at him, she knew that he understood. He understood the situation and the pain that Kushina was going through when looking to her own son. Not being able to say anything. Not being able to go close to him and express how she was his own mother.

But for now, she had to keep her cool and go on this mission, maybe things could come together and maybe Naruto would figure something out. Then, she wouldn’t have to explain something like this to a shocked Naruto. He would figure something out, eventually maybe.

「 」— She was a strange one, that was for sure. But there was a strange feeling that lingered that Naruto just couldn’t shake. What it was, he still didn’t know. All he did know was that working with her would certainly be an experience, given he knew not of her jutsu or even her capabilities in the battlefield. Though he worried little, since he’d worked fine with Yamato and Sai in the beginning.

“Neh, we’ve met and normally ya would have already told us the mission Kakashi-sensei.. if it was important yaknow..!” Naruto began, pout once more playing on his lips. He was determined to get his way, no matter how much talking and convincing he had to do. “So, Kushina and I should totally go get some ramen whilst you get ready yaknow!” There wasn’t much room for discussion in his plan, the blond seeing this as revenge for having woken him only for the silver haired male to be late.

“Well, you see.. about that..” Kakashi begun, trying to come up with some sort of excuse on the spot, that the Uzumaki was having none of. “Think of it as bonding!” Without warning, he grabbed onto Kushina’s hand and tugged. However as their palms touched he paused and stared at her with a blank expression. His heart was racing, mind wiping entirely and for the moment he completely forgot what he was trying to do. His eyes just couldn’t leave her, this bond between them feeling far stronger then he could even begin to understand.

Passing it off as hunger, he gave her hand another encouraging tug, looking away now to hide his embarrassment. “W-Well be back yaknow! Give us an hour.. I wanna get to know Kushina yaknow!” He still couldn’t shake it, that there was something special about Kushina. Even the fox sleeping within was restless, but spoke none. It was the absolute worst time for the kyuubi to be silent. “Ichiraku’s has the best ramen in the world! .. Ya do like ramen, right Kushina?”
